This is a good picture (when “do you need me to draw you a picture” comes up, as it inevitably does) to use when discussing privacy issues, especially online.
It doesn’t matter if Facebook† stores your address information encrypted with a 4096-bit key, hidden in a safe in Fort Knox if you’re just going to go go and post it on your wall, or give it out in an email phishing attack.

People also tend to confuse privacy and anonyminity.
People get paranoid about cameras in the mall or on the street and talk about “invasion of privacy”.
